Understanding Kubota skid steer loader error codes is essential for efficient operation and maintenance.
Always refer to your loader’s operation manual for specific fault code definitions and troubleshooting steps, and don’t hesitate to seek professional assistance when needed to keep your skid steer loader running smoothly.
How to Reset Kubota Skid Steer Error Codes?
Resetting error codes on a Kubota skid steer loader typically involves following a specific procedure to clear the error code(s) from the machine’s diagnostics system. Here’s a general step-by-step guide on how to reset error codes on a Kubota skid steer loader (skid steers: SSV65, SSV75 / compact track loaders: SVL65-2, SVL75-3, SVL97-2):
Please Note: It’s essential to address the root cause of the DTC error code before resetting it. Resetting the code without resolving the underlying issue may lead to further problems or unsafe operation.
1. Ensure Safety:
- Park the skid steer loader on a level surface.
- Engage the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2. Access the Error Code Display:
- On many Kubota skid steer loaders, the error codes are displayed on the control panel or instrument cluster.
- Turn the ignition key to the “On” position without starting the engine. This step may vary depending on your specific model.
3. View the Error Code(s):
- The DTC error code(s) should appear on the display screen. Make a note of the code(s) that you want to reset.
4. Refer to the Operator’s Manual:
- Consult your Kubota skid steer loader’s operator’s manual or technical documentation. It often contains information on error code interpretation and resetting procedures specific to your model.
5. Follow the Reset Procedure:
- Kubota skid steer loaders typically have a specific sequence of actions or button presses required to reset error codes. This procedure may involve holding down certain buttons or toggling switches. Refer to your operator’s manual for precise instructions.
6. Verify DTC Code Reset:
- After performing the reset procedure, turn the ignition key to the “On” position and check if the error fault code(s) have been cleared from the display.
7. Test the Equipment:
- Start the engine and operate the skid steer loader for a brief period, ensuring that the error code does not reappear.
8. Monitor Operation:
- Continuously monitor the machine’s operation to confirm that the issue has been resolved. If the error code reappears, it’s crucial to address the underlying problem.
Important: If you are unsure about how to reset error codes on your specific Kubota skid steer loader model or if the fault DTC code persists after resetting, it’s advisable to contact your local Kubota dealer or a qualified technician with Kubota Diagmaster for assistance. Resetting error codes should only be done after addressing the underlying issue to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the skid steer loader.
Kubota Skid Steer Loader Error Codes FAQ
Compact track or skid steer loaders are versatile and powerful machines used in various industries for a wide range of tasks. However, like any machinery, they can encounter issues that trigger error codes . Understanding these error codes is essential for diagnosing and addressing problems promptly.
In this FAQ, we’ll provide answers to common questions about Kubota skid steer loader error codes:
Q1. What are Kubota skid steer loader error codes?
A: Kubota skid steer loader error codes are alphanumeric codes generated by the onboard diagnostics system (OBD) of the machine. These codes represent specific issues or malfunctions detected within the loader’s various components and systems.
Q2. Why are error codes important?
A: Error codes are crucial for identifying and diagnosing problems in your Kubota skid steer loader. They serve as diagnostic tools that help operators and technicians pinpoint issues quickly, reducing downtime and preventing potential damage.
Q3. How do I read Kubota skid steer loader error codes?
A: Kubota skid steer loaders typically display error codes on the machine’s control panel or instrument cluster. You can refer to your loader’s operation manual for a list of error fault codes specific to your model. The manual will provide code definitions and recommended actions to take when a code appears.
Q4. What are some common Kubota skid steer loader error codes?
A: The specific error codes can vary depending on your skid steer loader’s model and year. Common error codes may relate to issues with the engine, hydraulics, electrical system, or other vital components. Refer to your manual for a comprehensive list of error codes and their meanings.
Q5. When should I seek professional help for error codes?
A: If you encounter error codes that you cannot resolve through basic troubleshooting or if the same codes reappear after resetting, it’s advisable to contact a qualified Kubota technician. They have the expertise and diagnostic tools to address complex issues and prevent further damage to your skid steer loader.
Q6. How can I prevent error codes in my Kubota skid steer loader?
A: Regular maintenance, routine inspections, and following recommended operating procedures can help prevent many error codes. Keeping your loader (SLV65-2, SVL75-3, SVL97-2, SSV65, and SSV75) in good condition and addressing issues promptly can reduce the likelihood of encountering DTC error codes.
My Kubota SVL65 track loader has been sitting unused indoors for a 10 months in an unheated building. It started up just fine today, but gave an error code E:9120. I turned off the engine, removed and inspected the fuel filter, visually everything is fine with the filter, but error E9120 still appears.
Kubota E9120 is water separator in fuel filter error code! Check the fuel filter for water!
Hi there, I’m experiencing an issue with my Kubota SVL75-2, as it’s currently stuck in limp mode with the error code e9214 displayed. This code indicates that the DPF regeneration cycle is occurring too frequently. Initially, I took the machine to the Kubota dealer for diagnosis. They removed the DPF filter, cleaned it, and recommended replacing the fuel injectors (the cost of replacing the injectors is about $8,000). Opting not to replace the injectors!!!
I continued to operate my SVL75-2 for about 10 hours, and e9214 code came back on… Subsequently, I decided to disassemble the loader myself. I had the DPF filter professionally cleaned again and replaced the fuel injectors. While the CTL is now starting and idling properly, it remains in limp mode due to the persistent error code.
I’m seeking advice on how to clear the DPF error code. I understand it typically involves a sequence similar to that of my Kubota L6060 tractor, but I’ve been unable to find any relevant information. I purchased the workshop manual for my SVL75 primarily but cannot find any information about clearing codes in there. Any suggestions on how to clear the DPF error code?
You most likely have a failure of either the T0, T1, T2 temperature sensor, or the differential pressure sensor, or a wiring problem.
Check the wiring from the sensors at the bottom edge of the gray protective sleeve covering the last several inches before the DPF muffler. See if the sleeve has worn through the wire’s insulation and is letting the wires short across each other.
When you replaced the fuel injectors, did you record the injector compensation numbers of each new injector with its location, then have your dealer use Kubota Diagmaster and enter the new codes on the ECU? If not, your injectors are not delivering fuel correctly.
What is error code 9602 on Kubota SVL 95?
Error E:9602 = Engine power limited (SCR system) – SCR system error, engine power is limited during operation! This DTC code does not appear on its own; usually, it is caused by a problem with the DPF (diesel particulate filter) of DEF sensors. If you see error E:9519 on your Kubota skid steer, you may have a problem with the DEF sensor, the wiring, or the DPF itself.
